What kinds of photographs are needed?

The number and type of photographs needed depend heavily on what is being modeled or measured. Some forensic projects work with a single photo and some bespoke measurement tasks may have 100+ photos from many different angles.

For most PhotoModeler projects, photographs taken from different vantage points and different angles are needed.  Multiple angles and separation of the positions can be important. Projects that use automation for setup (such as Coded Target or SmartMatch projects) can use more photographs whereas projects set up with manual marking and referencing are easier to do with fewer photos.
