Coded Target Project with Many Unsolved Photos

An issue that can happen with weak or incorrectly setup Coded Target projects is when a large percent of the photos in the project do not solve (that is have the Red X in the corner). There can be a number of reasons for this. This summary article touches on the most common reasons.

What Why How to Fix
Overlap Gap Too few targets in photos or poor overlap between photos. Split into multiple projects or retake, adding more photos and angles.
Duplicated Targets Targets were moved to a new location. Split into 2 projects or retake photos.
Poor Target Spread Some photos have targets in one a small area. Retake photos with added targets, or ignore poor photos.
Poor Photography Lighting or focus issue. Retake photos with good lighting and a steady hand, or ignore photos.
