For those that might need to set up PhotoModeler with no user interface, there is a silent install option. From the command prompt (or a script etc.), run the install exe with /s at the end like this: "PhotoModelerPremium_Setup.exe /s". This will lauch a process to run the installer in the background silently. Note that depending on our UAC control, there might still be a question from Windows if you want to install. Also, note that in versions before 2025.1.0, the PhotoModeler program did run at the end, even the silent install, so in this regard it was not completely ‘silent’.
With silent install, the final setup steps are taken when PhotoModeler first runs (which is now separate from the install and can be run by a user later). Note, the step of PhotoModeler running after install to complete the setup steps is very important. This must run with admin rights (right click “Run as administrator”). The installer normally runs PhotoModeler at elevated permissions (admin rights) which is needed in this first run to complete the setup (copy some files into restricted folders etc.). If you leave the first run to a user that cannot run with admin rights (or forgets to do so), then the installation will not be complete.
The silent install gives you an extra capability but with more responsibility. So even with silent bulk installs, we suggest your process still run PhotoModeler with admin rights soon after the install step.
