Moving/transfering a PhotoModeler Scanner license, without re-activating

To move your PhotoModeler Scanner and Meshing license (ie without re-activating online) from one machine to another can be done using a thumbdrive, or floppy disk etc by following the instructions shown below (the process is also described in the Help document).

If you are installing a new operating system on the same machine, you will need to contact Tech Support for instructions on how to re-activate your license. Tech Support staff will walk you through the process.

You start the process by installing PhotoModeler Scanner (from CD or download the Demo) on your new machine and running it in Demo mode.

1. On the 'new' machine, running in Demo mode, insert a thumbdrive or flopppy disk.
    a. Open the Move license dialog (Options menu, License Management, Move License...
    b. Click via Disk
    c. The Initialize button will be enabled (other buttons will be disabled). Click the Initialize button and Browse to the thumbdrve or floppy disk folder.
    d. a confirmation message will appear if the licenses (PMScanner and Meshing) gets initialized properly. If you get an error message here, the initialization failed so make sure you choose the correct folder. If you have problems with this step contact Tech Support and quote the text of the error message.

2. On the 'old' machine (fully licensed machine with PhotoModeler Scanner and Meshing activated), insert the floppy disk or thumbdrive with the initialized license (as done in Step1).
    a. Open the Move license dialog (Options menu, License Management, Move License...
    b. Click via Disk
    c. The Move... button will be enabled. Click it and Browse to the thumbdrve or floppy disk folder that contains the initialized license from step1.
    d. a confirmation message will appear if the license gets copied properly. This 'old' machine will now have PhotoModeler Scanner and Meshing in Demo mode. If you get an error message here, make sure the correct folder was selected. If you continue to have trouble, contact Tech Support and quote the text of the error message.

3. Back on the 'new' machine, insert the floppy disk or thumbdrive with the saved license from Step2.
    a. Open the Move license dialog (Options menu, License Management, Move License...
    b. Click via Disk
    c. The Complete... button will be enabled. Click it and Browse to the thumbdrve or floppy disk folder that contains the license from step2.
    d. a confirmation message will appear if the license gets copied properly. This machine will now have PhotoModeler Scanner and Meshing fully activated. If you get an error message here, make sure you have selected the correct folder. If you still have a problem contact Tech Support and quote the text of the error message.
